A little about me
I’m Dave, a Houston-based commercial photographer specializing in food, beverage and product imagery for agencies, hospitality groups and growing brands.
Long before I stepped behind a camera, I worked in restaurants and trained in advanced culinary arts. That experience still shapes every food and beverage production I take on. I understand how ingredients behave, how a kitchen moves and what makes a dish or drink feel honest, appetizing and true to the brand.
My education in business, marketing and photography helps me look beyond the individual frame. I want to know where the images will appear, who they need to reach and what job each asset must do. Those answers guide the lighting, composition, shot order and delivery—not just what looks good on set.
What I bring to a production
I served in both the U.S. Navy and U.S. Army and am a combat veteran. Military leadership taught me to prepare thoroughly, adapt when conditions change and stay focused when the pressure rises. Clients feel that on set: I arrive ready, communicate clearly and keep the production moving without adding unnecessary friction.
I’m equally comfortable following a detailed agency brief or helping a business turn a loose idea into a workable visual direction. Depending on the project, that may include creative direction, set design, food styling, lighting, capture, retouching and organized final files prepared for print, web, social, advertising or point-of-sale use.
The goal is simple: create strong photographs and make the entire process easier for the people responsible for the campaign.
Restaurant experience and formal culinary training inform practical styling, timing and visual decisions.
Every image is planned around the audience, placement, campaign needs and final deliverables.
Efficient shoots, responsive communication, careful post-production and well-organized files.
“He consistently delivers beautiful images, in addition to being a delight to work with.”

Tell me what you are creating, where the images need to work and when you need them. I’ll help turn that into a practical production plan.
