Case study · No Label Brewing

An assignment that grew into an ongoing brand archive.

What began in 2023 as documentary photography of brewing and production expanded into a long-term visual relationship spanning people, products, events, editorial coverage and the brewery itself.

Document first

Show how the beer is made.

The first project followed the physical process behind the beer: the brewery, equipment, packaging and the people doing the work.

Rather than forcing every assignment into one visual formula, Dave works around the story and intended destination of the images. That flexibility allowed the relationship to grow naturally as No Label’s needs changed.

A wider visual system

One photographer across very different needs.

The work has since included staff headshots, branding images and staff holiday parties, with assignments ranging from a single finished photograph to approximately 300.

The resulting images have appeared in newspaper articles, on No Label’s social channels and as prints displayed inside the brewery—giving the brand a consistent archive that can serve immediate campaigns and preserve its history.
